ShopWeDo sustainability charter – Part 3 of 3: Contributing to social welfare

At ShopWeDo, we like to emphasize the importance of sustainable business practices.
With this charter, therefore, we hope to inspire other businesses to choose business practices that are sustainable over the long term.
Meanwhile, you could already read how we try to reduce our ecological footprint and how we try to keep e-commerce in Belgium.
Corporate social responsibility makes us look for a balanced mix of people, planet and profit.
The last part, but certainly not the least important, is about the social and human aspect of business.

Our employees as a driving force

The engine of our e-fulfilment business, that is our people.
Employees determine the success of an organization.
At ShopWeDo, we form a close-knit team, with a strong emphasis on the well-being of our employees.
For example, we already take commuting distance into account in job applications.
The reason is simple: more comfort for our employees.
They spend less time in traffic, leaving more time in the evenings for family and relaxation.
Employing local people also has an ecological advantage at the same time.
The distances with non-environmentally friendly means of transport remain relatively limited this way.
We have also been working closely with the VDAB for years on recruitment.
Together with them, we guide people into the labor market.

A pleasant working environment largely determines how people feel in their jobs.
Therefore, we try to make the workplace as pleasant as possible for everyone.
Our spacious office offers lots of relaxing options: from nice seating areas to a kicker table, for well-deserved breaks. Needless to say, everyone’s safety is the focus in the warehouse.
In general, there is a friendly atmosphere without losing focus.
Organizing regular team building events allows everyone to get to know each other better -in an informal atmosphere. Consequently, it is very nice to see that most employees have been joining our ShopWeDo team for several years.
The low turnover allows us to build lasting relationships with a strong team of motivated individuals.

Helping others

ShopWeDo is and remains a Belgian and self-owned company. Our mission is to assist Belgian companies within e-commerce with our logistics expertise. Thus, we want to provide maximum support to the local economy by providing local employment and by collaborating with companies and suppliers from our country. In addition, our company’s management sits on boards of directors to be able to address site-specific bottlenecks.

In addition to e-fulfilment, we assist organizations in sending large volume shipments such as promotional materials and corporate gifts.
We also find supporting social projects and charities indispensable.
For example, in the past we have already acted as logistics partner of the Red Noses Day.
